Jan 01, 2024

Unite with the Portland District Library starting Friday, June 9 for Summer Reading 2023: All Together Now. The library is offering an all-ages Summer Reading Program which will run for 8 weeks until Saturday, August 5. Patrons will have the option of using PDL's virtual reading tracker, Beanstack, or logging minutes using a traditional paper tracker. Adults will get a sweet treat for unlocking their first badge and then can enter to win one of our wonderful prize packs at the end of the summer. Youth readers, ages 18 and under, will earn a prize for every badge they unlock and also an entry into one of the many grand prize packs for each age group: Littles (ages 0-5), Middles (ages 6-12), and Teens (ages 13-18). All reading must be logged on Beanstack and paper trackers turned in by Saturday, August 5.

Special Hours June 9

Because of our Summer Reading Kickoff Extravaganza on June 9, we will be open 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., instead of our usual hours.

Glorious Garlands

Using cardboard, leftover yarn, and some wooden beads, we’re going to create colorful custom garlands for your home. All skill levels can enjoy this project, so join your fellow crafters on Wednesday, June 28 at 6:30pm for all the fun. Ages 15 and over, registration is required.
