Boaters Rescue Turtle That Got Tangled Up in Fishing Line
A turtle that had gotten tangled in a fishing line at Barred Creek in Western Australia had a lucky escape on May 21, when a group of boaters came to the rescue.
Jae Barns and her partner Brayden Tolentino documented the rescue, in which a man can be seen diving into the creek to pick up the turtle and bring it onto the boat. The group then cut the lines before returning the turtle to the water.
"We saw him struggling to swim down to the bottom," Barns said. She told Storyful the turtle had gotten tangled in a fishing line and a rope from a crab pot, before getting caught on a branch.
Barns uploaded the footage to TikTok, where she reminded people to "keep our oceans clean." Credit: Jae Barns via Storyful

- Who is this guy?
- Grab it, Jay.
- Let's get going, eh? He's trying to put his head in.
- That's right.
- That line sucks. Jay, there's another.
- OK.
- Ready?
- Yeah. Yeah.
- Oh yay.
- How much [BLEEP] do you feel now, buddy?
